A Royal Tea Treat for Mothers

Mothers, sisters, aunts, wives and their families were celebrated in fine style this past Mother’s Day, as Eventia Ltd hosted their second annual “RoyalTea” extravaganza at The Anchorage in Chaguaramas. The ladies came out in their numbers and dressed in all manner of finery for a cool, classy evening of celebration near the sea with friends and family in close proximity.

In catering to the many mothers in the attendance, the “RoyalTea” committee provided a safe and engaging area for children of all ages to play with popular toys and each other, explore arts and craft ideas, make a photo album for their parents and of course, enjoy healthy foods, snacks and some junk as well if desired. XNK party rentals came on board to sponsor and supervise the kids area and stocked it with many fun and interesting items and toys.

Better known for their premium all-inclusive breakfast party entitled “Aurora”, which is held at Carnival time, Eventia Ltd has been producing and facilitating events such as weddings, anniversary parties and others since 2012.

Led by a dynamic trio of females in Deniece Williams-Alleyne and Shermane and Joy Rivers, Eventia Ltd began hosting the “RoyalTea” event last year after seeing the need for a laid-back, classy and entertaining Mother’s Day event.

We really wanted to celebrate women and mothers,” Rivers explained. ”We were always drawn to the idea of afternoon tea due to my (Shermane) own personal love for tea and delectable hors d’oeuvres, so we decided to go with the idea of a royal tea party, where we added wines to the menu and then incorporated the children’s area this year as well to make it easier for mothers to attend without having to be separated from their children or have the trouble of finding babysitters on Mother’s Day.”

Attracted to the wholesome concept, almost 200 patrons assembled at the tranquil and scenic venue from 4.30 pm and enjoyed just over three hours of quality service, treats, attractive giveaways and outstanding entertainment.

The Xavier Strings duet provided sweet violin music just before dusk to aid in digestion, while male crooners, Prestan Andreis and Timothy Watkins Jr aka “The Baron” proceeded to serenade the female assembly in their own unique and indomitable ways as darkness embraced the peninsula.

“It was really a great pleasure for me to be a part of this event,” stated Andreis. “So I must firstly thank the organisers for including me on the cast. It’s a blessings for me to be able to share my talent and explore my passion for singing and this event was so well organised and the audience so receptive and appreciative, I couldn’t have asked for a better Mother’s Day gig and being able to put smiles on the faces of all those ladies and mothers made it even more special...”

Complete with a delectable menu of hors d’oeuvres, two full tables laden with cakes, chocolates, scones and other scrumptious desserts, as well as an assortment of light and refreshing wines, the fare was just right for ladies and mothers not wanting to gorge and perfect for a Sunday evening dance near the ocean.

“This event was really wonderful,” said one enchanted mother, “and I’m really happy I came because I enjoyed it completely from start to finish - it was great!”
